A special meeting of the National Security Committee continues

A special meeting of the National Security Committee on the recent tension between Pakistan and Iran is ongoing at the Prime Minister's House in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar.

The chiefs of the three armed forces, including the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, are participating in the meeting.

Apart from this, the federal ministers in charge of defense, foreign affairs, finance and information, heads of intelligence agencies, officials of the foreign office, and the ministry of defense are also present in the meeting.

In this special meeting of the National Security Committee, a briefing is being given regarding the tension with Iran and Pakistan's attack on 'terrorists' in Iran.

In the meeting, after reviewing the tense situation between Pakistan and Iran, the future strategy is also being reviewed.

Apart from the National Security Committee, a meeting of the Federal Cabinet has also been called today, in which the current security situation of the country, including the tension with Iran, will be considered.

Telephone communication between Pakistani and Iranian Foreign Ministers

Today (Friday) there was a contact between Pakistan's Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian.

According to the statement of the Foreign Office of Pakistan, "Pakistani Foreign Minister expressed his determination to work with Iran on all issues with the spirit of mutual trust and cooperation."

According to the statement, he stressed the need for close cooperation on security matters.

Caretaker Prime Minister cut short his foreign visit

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, says that "Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar and Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani have shortened their foreign visit."

In the weekly briefing on Thursday, the spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that this visit has been shortened in light of the developments after Pakistan targets terrorist hideout Iran.

It should be noted that Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar had gone to Davos, Switzerland to participate in the World Economic Forum.

The caretaker prime minister will preside over the meetings of the National Security Committee and the Federal Cabinet on Friday after returning home.
