The goals of President Trump's Middle East trip

US President Donald Trump is on a four-day visit to the Middle East today . According to international media, he is angry at the behavior of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, which is why Israel is not included in the tour.

Trump is giving importance to his close Arab friends Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar during his visit to the Middle East.

President Trump had also announced the prevention of Pak-India tensions last week. Earlier, a ceasefire was reached in Israel's war on Gaza on his request. He is also leading in preventing the war between Russia and Ukraine. He has also reached an agreement with the Houthis in Yemen.

Therefore, after assuming the chair, he is eager to establish peace. It is believed that the US President is ending the war environment and focusing more on the country's economy.

US President Donald Trump made his first foreign visit to Saudi Arabia after taking office for the first time in 2017, instead of the UK.

Recently, Saudi Arabia has also played an important role in peace talks in Russia and Ukraine.

Saudi Arabia also mediated in the Indo-Pakistan conflict. For what purpose is the US president visiting Arab countries? What are his priorities? While attending the Davis Economic Forum in January 2025, President Trump demanded an investment of $1 trillion from Saudi Arabia.

Trump's demand came at a time when Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced that his country intends to invest $600 billion in the United States over the next four years.

It should be noted that during his visit to Saudi Arabia in 2017, Trump secured an investment of $350 billion.

This included an arms deal worth $110 billion. During this time, he also succeeded in obtaining billions of dollars from Qatar.

The two countries have signed several defense deals, including $8 billion in 2019 to renovate the US military base in Qatar.

In September 2020, Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani said his country had invested more than $200 billion in the US economy.

Experts say that Saudi Arabia considers the US to be the world's greatest power, while Washington sees Saudi Arabia as the gateway to the Middle East and a protective shield for any international strategy related to the stability of oil markets or global energy security.

Experts believe that President Trump believes that he has "achieved many benefits" for the Gulf countries, especially Saudi Arabia.

Trump's "successes" include the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime, support for the Israeli attack on Hezbollah in Lebanon, attacks on the Houthis in Yemen on Trump's orders, threats of a US military strike on Iran, and limiting Iran's role in the region.

President Trump recently announced the end of military operations in Yemen, saying that the Houthis have laid down their arms and will not attack American ships in the Red Sea again.

Trump's visit comes at a time when Iran's position in the region is changing politically and strategically, including talks between the United States and Iran over the end of its nuclear program. The United States will assure these countries in the Middle East that they will be protected from the potential threat of Iran.

Saudi Arabia wants to achieve economic growth by maintaining a balance between East and West, and Iran is facing internal difficulties due to US economic sanctions and, at the same time, it wants to resolve external differences due to protests in Iran.

The United Arab Emirates and Qatar have already announced investments ahead of Trump's visit.

In Dubai, the Trump Organization has announced the construction of the Trump International Hotel and Tower, a $1 billion project. A $2 billion Trump International Golf Club has also been announced in Qatar.

During his visit, Trump announced a political gift to the Gulf countries. Experts believe that this gift will be about the regular use of the name "Persian Gulf" by the United States as the "Arabian Gulf".

Trump has made his visit to Saudi Arabia conditional on the approval of his demands. Their main goal is to secure agreements under which money from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries will come to revive the American economy, including the purchase of American weapons and equipment for this purpose.
