China-Russia relations are valuable in the current international scenario: Chinese President
Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that the stability of China-Russia relations is particularly ‘precious’ in the current chaotic international landscape. According to the US news agency Associated Press, during a meeting with Russian Foreign
Minister Sergei Lavrov in Beijing on Wednesday, President Xi said that the strength and ideal significance of the friendship treaty between the two countries become even more evident in such circumstances.
He stressed
that the foreign ministries of the two countries must fully implement the
consensus reached between him and Russian President Vladimir Putin, and further
strengthen strategic communication and close diplomatic coordination.
President Xi
called for the comprehensive strategic partnership between Beijing and Moscow
to be “higher, more stable and more far-reaching.”
Sino-Russian
relations have deepened in recent years, especially after Russia’s invasion of
Ukraine in 2022. During Putin’s visit to China in September, the two leaders
addressed each other as “old friends” and “dear friends.”
Russian Foreign Min
ster Sergei Lavrov arrived in Beijing on Tuesday for a two-day
visit at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
