Japan rejects accusations by Russia and China of becoming a military power again
Japan has
rejected the accusations by China and Russia that it is becoming a
"re-emerging superpower" as baseless.
According to
media reports, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir
Putin said in a joint statement that Japan is accelerating its military buildup
and is posing a threat to regional peace and stability.
On the other
hand, Japan's Deputy Chief Secretary Masano Ozaki said at a news conference
that China should resolve issues related to its military activities and Russia
should stop its invasion of Ukraine.
It should be
noted that Japan's relations with China deteriorated last November when Prime
Minister Sanai Takaichi said that Japan considers Taiwan a separate province
and that China's use of force against Taiwan could pose a threat to Japan's
survival, so the country can exercise its right to collective defense in this
case.
