'Harry
Potter' to be remade as a TV series with new cast
Connected
with childhood memories, Hollywood's timeless film series Harry Potter is ready
to return to the screen in a new form. But this time it is not about the films
but about a complete TV series, in which everything will be new... The story
will be the same old, but the faces will be new!
HBO has
officially announced that the world of Harry Potter will now step onto the
small screen with a new generation of actors. The TV series will have the same
old color of magic, adventure and friendship, which revolves around Harry,
Hermione and Ron, but this time these roles will be seen by young artists:
Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and
Alastor Stewart as Ron Weasley.
HBO welcomed
the three novice actors in a special way on its Instagram page, and promised to
open the doors to the magical world for them. The post read: "Mr. Potter,
Miss Granger, and Mr. Weasley! "We are delighted that you have been
accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."
There was an
interesting selection process behind this wonderful opportunity. According to
the famous magazine Variety, when HBO announced an open casting call last year,
more than 30 thousand children from all over the world auditioned. From among
them, the three lucky ones were chosen who are now going to become the main characters
of this magical world.
The
showrunner of the series, Francesca Gardner and director Mark Meld expressed
their joy and said, “It is a matter of great joy for us that we have found our
Harry, Hermione and Ron. The essence and talent that these three have is
related to seeing on the screen. We are also grateful to the thousands of
children who auditioned.”
The beauty
of the series is that along with the new generation of heroes, well-known and
experienced actors have also been included. John Lithgow will play Professor
Dumbledore, while Janet McTeer will play Professor McGonagall, Papa Acedo will
play Professor Snape, Nick Frost will play Haggard, Luke Thielen will play
Professor Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse will play Filch, the school's strict
caretaker.
The series
will be based on J.K. Rowling's famous novels, and interestingly, Rowling
herself will be involved in the project as an executive producer.
Speaking of
the young cast, this is the first major project for Alastair Stewart, Dominic
McLaughlin will soon be seen in the comedy series Grow, while Arabella Stanton
has proven her acting skills in Matilda: The Musical on the West End.
Although the
release date for the TV series has not yet been announced, it is certain that
this project will soon be coming to cast magic on HBO Max. Fans are now eagerly
awaiting to see if this new generation will be able to maintain the magic that
made Harry Potter a household name around the world.
