What is the beginning of civilization?
We read and
hear a lot about civilization, today we talk about how civilization began.
Of course, you also want to talk about it. The man had gone from a state of
barbarism to a civilized state before the beginning of history.
From the Stone
Age to the Metal Age, conditions were created that were necessary
for the development of civilization. Human tribes left the nomadic life and
settled in fertile areas, including the Nile Valley, the Dijla Frat and
the Indus Valley, where settlements were first established and farming
was taken up as a profession.
The valleys
in which civilization began to flourish had three things in common
1 The lands
in these areas were fertile and there was an abundance of water, which made it
easy to cultivate grains and cereals.
2 The climate of these areas was mild, neither too cold nor too hot.
3 These
areas were in the middle of the mountains or deserts so they were safe from foreign
invaders for a long time and the people who settled here had the opportunity to
live a peaceful life for some time, which was the early stages of civilization.
Was necessary to
Civilization
in these areas actually began with farming. When families and tribes began to
settle on the land to cultivate the land and they established villages, they
became aware of the collective welfare and the responsibility for this
collective welfare was placed on the family or tribal elders. His orders for the
protection and survival of the family began to be obeyed and he gradually
became like a ruler.
In the Nile
Valley, the head of a family or tribe was also responsible for distributing
water. Because the flood of the Nile had taught the Egyptians to control the
water and this water was distributed at a time when the flood was over. Thus
the art of irrigation began in Egypt, and when labor and time were required to
dig canals and supply water to the fields, wages were collected in the form of
taxes. The chief of the tribe was the first to impose taxes and thus tarnished
the formation of the government.
As the
necessities of life began to increase and work was started on other occupations
to meet them, the focus shifted to agriculture as well as the industry. Villages began to turn into cities and at the same time, governments began to form in the
cities. From rural life to urban life, from the rule of tribal chief to the
establishment of a kingdom, there was a gradual development in all the
countries where civilization and religion originated in ancient times.
Concept
of Religion: -
Religion is an important part of civilizing
nations. When the man realized that there were some forces that could benefit or
harm him, he bowed down to them, worshiped the sun, rain, and rivers to grow
crops from the earth and to avoid destruction. Offer sacrifices and offerings
in his name. At the same time, many other deities began to be worshiped. Thus
began the concept of religion. Initially, religious practices were practiced by
tribal chiefs, but later the rulers of the cities became monopolists of religion
and declared themselves the incarnation of the deity.
The Pharaohs
of Egypt were considered close to the kings of Babylon and the Brahmin gods of
India. Religion was associated with politics in such a way that for a long time
religious leaders remained political leaders and rulers and were worshiped
along with the gods. Such notions of religion imposed further restrictions on
man and made his life bound by religious laws.
National
laws are based on religious law. When King Hammurabi of Babylon engraved the
first law of the world on a rock, he showed that this law was given to him by
the sun god, and to deviate from it is to deviate from religion.
Beginning
to write art: -
The
beginnings of writing where religious concepts were practiced, and the way the
writing was practiced proved to be astonishing and effective. In the beginning,
this person expressed his thoughts by making pictures, for example, if it was
to show that a person is hungry and he has nothing to eat, then a picture of a
person was made by his hand. Was It was made by putting it on the mouth which
showed hunger. It was started by the Egyptians and they bound their writing to
six hundred signs.
Then these
signs were changed into letters, but it took a long time to reach the letters
from the signs and the letters of the alphabet were invented later. Along with
the invention of the art of writing, the Egyptians introduced the world of
science by inventing paper, pen, and ink. Their experiences, observations, and
their needs began to come in writing. The deeds of kings and the hymns of the
gods began to be written on rolls of paper and on the walls of temples. Along
with Egypt, the art of writing was invented by the Samaritans, the Babylonians, and the people of the Indus Valley, and the importance of writing increased in
the valleys where civilization developed.
Thus it can
be said that the development of civilizations began soon after the invention of
writing and it is a fundamental part of every civilization. If these ancient
nations and countries had not developed, the present world would not have
reached the destination it is today. How did you like this post, be sure to
