'Turkey wants to take relations with Saudi Arabia to a higher level'



Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that his country is determined to take bilateral relations with Saudi Arabia to a higher level in various fields, including renewable energy and the defense industry.

According to Arab News, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh on Tuesday and discussed various issues, including bilateral relations.

nt issued by the Turkish presidential office, President Erdogan also told the Saudi Crown Prince that Turkey will continue to support Saudi Arabia for stability in Syria and will cooperate with Saudi Arabia for the reconstruction of Syria.


Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his delegation left the Saudi capital Riyadh on Wednesday, where he was seen off at King Khalid International Airport by Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region.

A joint statement issued by Saudi Arabia and Turkey following President Erdogan’s visit commended the Syrian government’s efforts to protect the country’s territorial integrity and promote peace.

The statement condemned Israeli violations on Syrian soil and called on Israel to immediately withdraw from all occupied areas of Syria.

The joint statement by Saudi Arabia and Turkey called for the restoration of peace and stability in Sudan, the Palestinian territories and Yemen, while condemning the Israeli aggression in Gaza and calling for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the Israeli occupation.

 

Turkey praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts to resolve the Yemeni crisis, especially the comprehensive talks held in Riyadh that brought together all southern Yemeni factions.

The two countries also stressed the need to counter any support for internal elements in Yemen that seek to undermine the country’s security and stability.

According to the statement, Saudi Arabia and Turkey also stressed the need to start a political process in Sudan through a civilian government.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in the Saudi capital Riyadh on Tuesday, where he was received by Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region, at King Khalid International Airport.

Riyadh Mayor Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Minister of Commerce Majid Al-Qasabi and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
