interesting facts about World Cup trophies and World Cup winners.FIFA,that is, Federation International of Football Association was established in 1904.1904 with the aim of administering the game of football and giving it further development and innovation. In 1928, FIFA president Jules Rimet took the initiative to establish a tournament called the FIFA World Cup for the world football competition.

World Cup Conditions

Started in 1930, the FIFA World Cup is held every four years.and the World Cup trophy awarded to the winning team is undoubtedly one of the most famous and prestigious prizes in the game.

The first trophy to be produced for a World Cup winner was designed by a French sculptor in 1930.The trophy was originally named the "Victory",but at the end of World War II, in 1946, the trophy was renamed the "Jules Rimet" trophy.in honor of the services of former FIFA president and mastermind of the World Cup event, Jules Rimet.

The design featured a gold statue of Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, holding an octagonal cup on her head and wearing a garland around her neck.

Made of pure silver, the trophy was inlaid with gold and its blue base was made of precious stones. The height of the trophy was 14 inches and it weighed 3.8 kg.Friends, regarding this trophy, FIFA has made a rule.the winner of each tournament will be entitled to this original trophy till the next World Cup.

and will be able to keep it till that next four years. And then according to the same order, the winner of the next World Cup will be entitled to this trophy for the next four years. Moreover, any team that wins the World Cup 3 times will become the permanent owner of this trophy and then will be able to keep it forever.

Under this rule, different countries were entitled to this trophy from 1930 to 1970.and finally, after Brazil's third victory in the 1970 World Cup, the "Jules Ramet Trophy" went permanently to Brazil.

An interesting thing about this trophy is that during World War II, an official of the Italian Football Federation, who was also the vice-president of FIFA.put this trophy in a shoebox and kept it in his bed for safekeepingThe trophy was kept safe during the war, but it has been stolen twice since.

For the first time, before the start of the World Cup in 1966, the trophy was stolen during an exhibition at Westminster Central Hall in LondonThe search for it took many dramatic turns but the English police failed to reach the trophy and England remained a laughing stock to the world.

A few days later, a dog named Pickles was playing on the ground when he found a package wrapped in newspaper, which when his owner opened it, contained the World Cup trophy. For the second time in 1983, the same trophy was again stolen from Brazil.

Since 1970, the trophy has been the permanent property of Brazil, which they used to keep in the offices of their football confederation, from where it was stolen.

The Brazilian government also announced a huge reward for the finder of the trophy, but this trophy has not been recovered till date.It is believed to have been melted down and sold. Brazil later produced a gold-plated replica of the trophy.

After the Jules Rimet Trophy went permanently to Brazil in 1970, FIFA had to introduce a new trophy before the 1974 World Cup.For this purpose, FIFA received 53 designs from around the world and among them, an Italian artist's design was selected.

The new design featured two athletes, carrying the earth on their heads. The trophy was 14.4 inches high, and was made of 6.17 kilograms of 18-karat gold.'FIFA World Cup' was engraved on the base of the trophy, and now after each World Cup, the name of the winning team and the year is also engraved.

on the base in the national language of that country. In 1994 and 2014, minor changes were made in the design of this trophy.Unlike the previous World Cup trophy, as per the new rules, this new FIFA World Cup trophy will no longer be awarded to a single country.Instead, the winner will now receive a gold-plated bronze replica trophy.

The original trophy is permanently housed at the FIFA World Football Museum in Zurich.and is only taken out for world tours before the world cup or other official ceremonies.
