Dismissed monopoly lawsuit against Facebook
A US court has ruled that the social media site Facebook's monopoly case is
null and void due to insufficient evidence.
Shares of Facebook have
risen 4% since the lawsuit was dropped. The value of the Facebook company has
exceeded one trillion dollars since the case was dropped from the court.
A monopoly complaint was
lodged against the company on social media.
A lawsuit was filed in a
US court against the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Facebook for violating
the no-confidence motion. Last week, Facebook owners asked the court to reject
the no-confidence motion.
A lawsuit against
Facebook has been filed in a New York court by the US Federal Trade Commission.
Responding to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) lawsuit, Facebook said the
no-confidence motion reportedly did not address any of the damages.
The lawsuit, filed by New
York Attorney General Latina James, alleges that Facebook uses illegal tactics
to usurp users' rights, eliminate competition from competitors, and establish a
monopoly.
The case was disposed of
outside the court. The lawsuit further states that in order to restore investor
confidence in the market, Facebook should stop this exploitative process of
forced procurement by weakening rival companies.
In response to the lawsuit, Fees said the government's move was nothing more than a punishment for
successful businesses.
Facebook adds that users
are authorized to use another product or another company's services. The
lawsuit was filed to injure or harm consumers.
In addition, the owner of
the company says that not only the United States but also other states will
make baseless allegations against the company to be removed from the courts
because they have done a lot of damage to Facebook.
Instagram update
One piece of news is that
the social networking site Instagram has started testing a new method with the link provided with the stories.
According to a foreign
news agency, links on Instagram can now be linked to a sticker instead of a
swipe up. The company has begun testing new ways to make better use of user
connections.
These stickers will work
just like swipe-up links, but you have to click instead of swipe up. Similarly,
consumers will now be able to respond to stores with stickers, which was not
possible in swipe-up stores at the time.
According to Instagram
product head Vishal Shah, the test aims to find out how people can benefit from
contacts. This test will also look at how people post links while also looking
at links to misleading content.
He said that stickers are
the preferred method of people in this platform so communication is being made
a part of the overall system which will make it easier.
"Link Stickers is a
goal of Instagram that will be achieved gradually and it is a future strategy
that we want to further improve the app," he added. Currently, this new
feature will be limited to certified users or at least 10,000 followers.
