OIC Conference on Stability in
Afghanistan. Pakistan
hosted the most important two-day conference on stability in Afghanistan
and overcoming the humanitarian crisis. It includes 70 delegations, including
foreign ministers from 22 countries and 10 deputy foreign ministers.
Pakistan has used the
OIC platform to convince participants that there is no war in Afghanistan at
the moment. Rather, their real problem is hunger.
Explaining this,
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that it was not the time to
recognize the Taliban government. However, war victims and the homeless
should not be left alone in this hour of need.
Pakistan has always insisted that the
involvement of the international community with Afghanistan is
essential. Hosting the Council of Ministers is also an active effort for the
Afghan people to gain the support of the international community.
Pakistan's efforts can be gauged from the extent to which
Pakistan cares about the needs of the Afghan people. Pakistan and Afghanistan
are founding members of the OIC. Over the years, the OIC has provided continued
support to the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Forty-one years ago today, the situation in Afghanistan was
also discussed at the OIC meeting hosted by Pakistan in 1980. Through the
recent conference, Pakistan has also informed the world about the current
situation in Afghanistan that there is a shortage of food in the winter season.

system of life. In this context, economic stability and peace is not just national or regional issue. On the contrary, if this important issue is not

Afghan people be taken care of, regardless of race or color.
The enmity between the US and the Taliban does not seem to
end soon. Because the United States says the Taliban will have to keep its
promises of direct aid.
The United States believes that relations with Afghanistan
cannot be established unless a broad-based government is established in
Afghanistan. Similarly, the international community is concerned about the
rights of minorities, women, and girls in Afghanistan.
The United States has said no direct aid can be given to the
Taliban government unless all promises, including control of ISIS, are
fulfilled. However, the Taliban government has said it has met all the conditions
set out in the talks.
Now there is no
justification for withholding Afghanistan's funds and freezing Afghanistan's 10 billion. The
Taliban leader explained that on the one hand, the Taliban government did not
have the money to pay government employees.
And from April to
December, the salaries of government employees could not be paid. On the other
hand, we are being asked to open girls' educational institutions. If this
demand is met, the economic burden on the government will increase.
The ongoing tussle between the United States and the Taliban
indicates that there is still a test for the Taliban government. If this ordeal
continues for two years, the lives of the Afghan people will be in danger.
With this in mind,
Pakistan has presented the situation in Afghanistan to the world through the
platform of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). So that human lives
can be saved by arranging the necessities of life for the Afghan people after
getting acquainted with the reality.
Pakistan has succeeded
in this regard. Proof of this is the presence of OIC foreign ministers in
Pakistan and the voice of Pakistan. One should hope because Muslim countries
have ensured their participation in the OIC conference. In the same way, a plan
of action will be worked out through mutual cooperation which will play an
effective role in rescuing the Afghan people from the difficult situation.
