Hosh Muhammad Sheedi (Sind's brave black general)

Hosh Muhammad Sheedi (Sind's brave black general)

Shaheed Hosh Mohammad is an invaluable star in the history of Sindh. He is still known for his unparalleled bravery. Even today his slogan "I will die but I will not give Sindh" is a symbol of the independence and unity of Sindh. This hero was martyred in 1843 while fighting against the British in the army of Charles Napier.

Hosh Muhammad Sheedi (Sind's brave black general)

Hosh Muhammad Sheedi was born in 1801 in Hyderabad, Sind. At that time the government of Sind was under the rule of Talpur rulers.

Many contradictory references are made to him while scholars, researchers. and historians seem to be presenting their views. but everyone agrees that Shaheed Hosh Mohammad Sheedi is the hero and hero of Sind.

The real character and deeds of Shaheed, Hosh Mohammad Sheedi have been mysteriously silenced in the history of Sind. while Charles Napier, while acknowledging the bravery and courage of Shaheed Hosh Mohammad Sheedi.

He wrote “This brave man Mir Sher Muhammad's defeated army. was dispersing, then he showed his unparalleled bravery. and moral standards, the courage with which he stood in the way of his enemy. this feat immortalized his name forever.

Different historians have written different things about Shaheed Hosh Mohammad Sheedi. He is also seen in many places as the grandson of Sind.

Mansoor Qadir Junejo, quoting Mehr Kachhlavi in his book. "General Hosh Mohammad Sheedi", writes that "there is no news about the early life of Shaheed Hosh Mohammad Sheedi".

How can he know now? For this, it is necessary to have information about Sheedi (black). who says that Shaheed Hosh Mohammad Sheedi is buried in the fort of Hyderabad.

so this is also not true because the last battle in this fort took place. when Talpur and The Kalhora rulers fought. There was a war in between, but when Sindh was conquered by the British. no war was fought from the fort.

Motivations for the conquest of Sind:

The motives for the conquest of Sind are heartbreaking. Khursheed Qaimkhani writes in his book Wandering Generations: ۔ When Sobdar Khan was young. he was saddened by this and kept dreaming in his heart of revenge and gaining the throne.

Sober Khan got this opportunity when Charles Napier decided to conquer Sind. he helped the British in every possible way behind the scenes. and in February 1843 he fortified himself in the battle of Mayani.

Hosh Mohammad Sheedi did not support Sobdar Khan on this occasion. and showed high moral standards. Sober Khan kicked him out of the fort and threatened to punish him for declaring victory on the British.

When the British entered the fort of Hyderabad on February 21, 1843. they looted the treasury of the fort and arrested Mir Sobdar Khan and Mir Mahmood Khan.

Hosh Mohammad Sheedi was very saddened by this defeat. and he formed a group of Sheedi youths to take revenge on the British. and Mir Sher Mohammad came to Mirpur Khas.

The estate of Mirpur Khas was at that time in the possession of Mir Sher Muhammad. who was also of great concern due to the British domination. ۔

Charles Napier, with the help of some treacherous chiefs. kept a close watch on the movement of Mir Sher Muhammad's army. On March 23, 1843, Napier stopped the advance of the Sindh army. at Pahli Par (Sabha). The two armies came face to face and a two-way war broke out between them.

In the evening, the British army attacked the Sind army. from behind due to some traitors. which caused a stampede in the Sind army.

On such an occasion, Hosh Mohammad Sheedi advised Mir Sher Mohammad. to go out of the battlefield and prepare a major attack by arranging reinforcements.

As long as we keep the British here. Mir Sher Mohammad should not leave the battlefield. He wanted to but due to the delicacy of the time and circumstances. he left the field. Hosh Mohammad Sheedi changed his war strategy and adopted a defense strategy.

Some historians seem to be prejudiced against Shaheed Hosh Mohammad Sheedi. It seems that these people cannot digest this hard truth of history.

Capt. Moinuddin writes in his article "The Day Hosho Shaidi is Martyred". that "Hosho Muhammad Sheedi Talpur was in the service of the rich. who was, in fact, a slave. whose war strategy has been openly praised by Charles Nipper." ۔

He further writes that when I reached the place where this war took place. I met a local man who told me that his grandfather. had also fought in this war.

and when he mentioned this war to us. his Tears flowed uncontrollably from his eyes. He said that when the ammunition of the Sind army was burnt by a traitor. still, conscious Muhammad Sheedi did not allow the repentance to be silenced.

I asked where was the Baloch army? Since I had read in a book. that a group of Baloch riders was present in a village near Dabba. why didn't they help Hosho Sheedi. in this critical hour?

The man replied, "You are right, they had more riders than the British. but after Mir Sher Mohammad left the field. Hosh Mohammad Sheedi also told him to attack the British.

but he obeyed the order of a Sheedi." Manna considered it against his dignity. so he did not come forward and when Sheedi was martyred. then the British attacked him and he fled.

There is no truth in the fact that Hosh Mohammad Sheedi. learned the art of penitentiary from the French army. or that he fought against the British in the army of Napoleon Bonaparte in Egypt.

Charles Nipper has written this in his book "Conquest of Sind". but there is a difference of fifty years between the war in Dubai and Egypt. There may be another black person who thinks this is Hosho Sheedi. The rest of such fabrications mean that Hosho Sheedi's personality should be humiliated.

If the job is slavery then all the servants are slaves. who were the servants of the rulers at that time? while there is a difference between slavery and rights in the job.

Mehr Kachhlavi, quoting Seth Naumal's memoirs. writes that Naumal tells Sir Bartle Ferrer that if you wish. I will invite some soldiers from Zanzibar because they are not fanatics but honest. and loyal soldiers.

Some time ago I met an old man who told me that our elders were brought here for construction work. and there were a large number of them who were settled here.

This ancient village was known as Sheedi Goth. where now only Sheedi Village Road is left. and the Arabic Sheedi Masjid is a reminder of the old days.

The irony of historians is that they have been reluctant to present the facts. All their emphasis was on enslaving Hosho Shahidi. sometimes calling Hosho Shaidi the best adviser. sometimes praising his war strategy. and sometimes deviating from the military.

But no matter what he says. it is very clear that the role of Hosho Sheedi is prominent in the survival and integrity of Sindh. which was supported by his Sheedi brothers.

Even today you see that the Sheedis are completely forgotten. in the name of loyalty to the earth while the fact is that the British. are enjoying the blessings and those who are against them are still.

a role model for the battlefield of Doaba was the British. The graves of those who died in this war and its monument have been built.

Adjacent to this is the graves of the martyrs who were martyred in this war. This place is located on Deha Narijani. on the way from Jakarta Phatak to New Hyderabad City. on Mirpur Khas Road near which there is also a housing scheme called New Hyderabad City.

Every year on 23rd March, the day of Shaheed Sind. is celebrated with great fanfare by the people of Sheedi. and it is a tribute to it.
